Club Med Cherating

We were at Club Med Cherating for 4 days 3 nights last week. It was a good break although I was totally exhausted after that seeing as we brought along the kids. Zuwern had a fever and had heat rash all over his body, so that was worrying. Luckily, his fever subsided the 2nd day we were there, and since he was fussing to get into the pool, we let him play in the water for a while. Zerlynde on the other hand thoroughly enjoyed herself! We signed her up with Petite Club where she got to interact with the other children. She really loved that. And in the evenings, she joined in the dancing with the rest of the G.O's and the guests in the main bar. Everyone was amused to watch her dancing so well! She's truly a social animal, that one!
We went with Kenzu's high school friends and their families, all in a total of 8 couples/families. And since all drinks were included in the package, the chaps were drinking like fishes. They were even challenged by the Club Med team to a drinking competition. So calling themselves Club Mad, they gladly accepted the challenge. I wasn't awake to catch Club Mad v. Club Med but was informed the next morning that Club Med lost by yards, or rather pints! "Club Med" obviously didn't know what they got themselved into!
Although there were lots of activities lined up for us, I hardly got to do anything besides a quick dip in the Jacuzzi pool with Zuwern. Hubby played some games with his pals; basketball and beach volleyball. Zerlynde and I managed to collect some sea shells by the beach which was really interesting. And our 3rd day there, we spent a couple of hours by Pantai beach, enjoying the sea breeze. Zerlynde couldn't stand the smell of the sea and refused to get down from the stroller. Auntie Pauline couldn't even tempt her to get down with an invitation to build a sandcastle. The G.O's made us some Satay there which Zerlynde really enjoyed.
We had so much to eat during our stay there. The seafood buffet dinner was especially good and we ate till we could hardly move! Zerlynde naturally couldn't resist her ice-cream at every meal, Kenzu completed all his with fruits and I didn't leave till I sampled every single dessert on the platter every time.
What I liked most about Club Med is the attention to the tiny details. One sees lovely flowers arranged on top of sideboards, vanity tops, even on our bed and our bathroom basin. I really appreciated that.
We are already talking about another group trip, maybe Phuket or Bali. And Zerlynde has been bugging me to "go to Club Med this Saturday".....

My kids and I love the swimming pool, that's why we chose a San Telmo hotel!
