A Breakthrough in Motion

June 2nd is a memorable day indeed for us. It's the day when Zerlynde first "poo-pooed" in her potty :)

We have been hoping to potty train her since 3 weeks ago when daddy bought her a cute little potty chair from Mothercare. Following Dr Spock's advice closely, we first got her to be comfortable with the potty, playing with it and sitting on it as and when she desired. Then we taught her to associate the potty with her bowel movements by leading her to sit on the potty each time after she'd finished with her business. After a week or so, she was able to by herself go and sit on the potty everytime she sensed an approaching bowel movement.

So what happened on that memorable day was as follows. I was preparing Zerlynde for her bath, "swimming" as she calls it in the morning, running the water to fill the tub in the bathroom as naked Zerlynde watched on impatiently, when unexpectedly she indicated a bowel movement coming. I quickly screamed for daddy to bring us the potty chair which he brought just in time for Zerlynde to sit on. With both of us proud parents watching on, Zerlynde presented us with a little movement which only foolish parents like us will look at as if it's the most beautiful thing in the world.............
